Ingredient & Flavour Guide

A Caffeine-Free Evening Cup: Chamomile, Lavender and Whole-Leaf Greens

An evening drink does not need a medical promise to earn a place in the cupboard. Sometimes the useful distinction is much simpler: no caffeine, a flavour you genuinely enjoy, and a preparation that signals the day is winding down.

Serene Green was created around that idea. It combines our farm-grown young barley, wheat and oat leaves with chamomile, star anise and lavender. The result is floral, softly aromatic and naturally caffeine-free.

Why caffeine-free matters at night

Caffeine is the defining stimulant in traditional coffee and many conventional teas. Tea’d Greens blends do not use traditional tea leaves, so they are naturally caffeine-free. For customers who prefer to avoid caffeine later in the day, that makes the choice straightforward.

We describe Serene Green by what it is—whole-leaf young greens with chamomile, lavender and star anise—not by promising that it will treat stress, anxiety or sleep problems.

What each ingredient contributes to the cup

Young barley, wheat and oat leaves

These are the base of every Tea’d Greens dry infusion. They provide the light, green foundation and are grown, harvested and processed on our farm in British Columbia.

Chamomile

Chamomile brings a familiar soft floral and apple-like character. It is widely used in evening herbal beverages, but in this blend we focus on its flavour and aroma rather than promising a physiological effect.

Lavender

Lavender is intensely aromatic, so a little changes the entire profile. It adds a clean floral note that sits above the young greens.

Star anise

Star anise adds a subtle licorice-like spice note and gives the blend more structure than a purely floral infusion.

The value of a repeatable evening cue

There is also something practical about making the same caffeine-free drink at roughly the same point in the evening. The preparation takes a few minutes, pulls attention away from a screen, and creates a familiar transition without requiring a complicated wellness routine.

That is the language we prefer: an evening cup, not a cure; a sensory habit, not a treatment.
